Blue Star Labradoodles (BREEDER) strives to provide healthy, sound pups with great temperaments by breeding only Health Tested Dams and Sires, and by providing the PUPPY with a quality, veterinarian approved diet, exercise, socialization and veterinary care.
Your PUPPY has received their first set of puppy vaccinations. A record of the vaccination history of the PUPPY will be supplied to you at the time of the delivery or pick up of your PUPPY.
If the PUPPY should be diagnosed with a listed genetic defect (hips, elbows, eyes) within the first two (2) years of life, BREEDER will provide a replacement PUPPY of the same sex and quality from the next available litter or the litter of the BUYER’S choice. A replacement PUPPY will only be granted after the affected PUPPY has been spayed/neutered (if not already altered). The BREEDER is not responsible for any costs associated with diagnosis and treatment of genetic disease or defect.
The BREEDER reserves the right to have the PUPPY examined by a second veterinarian of the BREEDER’S choice at the expense of the BUYER, for the purpose of a second opinion regarding any claims under this HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE. In the case of hip dysplasia, the claim must be accompanied by a statement from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or a board-certified veterinary orthopedic specialist confirming that the PUPPY does have moderate to severe dysplastic hip joints. In the case of PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) the claim must be accompanied by a statement from a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist stating that the PUPPY has been diagnosed with PRA.
Claims against this GUARANTEE must be accompanied by a statement from BUYER’S veterinarian on the veterinary clinic’s letterhead, accompanied by a copy of the receipt from BUYER’S original “New Puppy Vet Visit” to be considered valid. This HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE is not transferable and is valid only for the original BUYER.
To activate the HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE, BUYER must have the PUPPY examined by BUYER’S Veterinarian within three (3) working days of physical possession (New Puppy Vet Visit). Failure by the BUYER to have the PUPPY examined within the above mentioned time frame, unless an alternate time frame is agreed to by the BREEDER, voids the Agreement and Guarantee in it’s entirety and frees the BREEDER from any further responsibility towards the health of said puppy.
If the PUPPY is found by the BUYER’S veterinarian to be unhealthy, but not suffering from a life-threatening or quality of life-compromising disease or an obvious or debilitating congenital or genetic defect, the BUYER’S veterinarian is to contact the BREEDER, or the BREEDER’S veterinarian (upon BREEDER’S request) to discuss necessary treatment and allocation of payment of expenses. The BREEDER will reimburse the cost of any medications deemed necessary and agreed upon to restore the PUPPY to health, but BREEDER will not reimburse any exam, diagnostic fees or hospitalization costs, which are the responsibility of the BUYER, unless agreed to prior to administration. Fax authorization or e-mail is deemed acceptable. Depending upon the extent or severity of the illness, BREEDER reserves the right to replace the PUPPY.
BUYER understands that BREEDER will not have the PUPPY spayed or neutered prior to delivery to the BUYER and by Contract they are to have the puppy spay/neutered by 6 months of age unless another time frame is agreed to by BREEDER. BREEDER will provide the Pedigree at time of delivery.
BUYER is to provide their new PUPPY with annual examinations, vaccinations, heart worm test, and any other reasonable and usual procedures necessary to assure good health. In addition, BUYER agrees to appropriately treat any illness or injury to the PUPPY that may occur in order to maintain the PUPPY’S good health. Failure to properly vaccinate the PUPPY may result in severe illness and death from preventable diseases and constitutes gross negligence on the part of the owner.
There are many factors that can influence the PUPPY’S growth and development. The BUYER assumes the responsibility of continuing the PUPPY’S vaccination schedule, and a good feeding and exercise schedule to keep their PUPPY healthy and fit. The BUYER agrees to provide a suitable fenced area for this puppy.
If, at any time, the BUYER cannot take proper care of the PUPPY, the BUYER must contact the BREEDER. The BREEDER will either take the PUPPY back or assist the BUYER/FAMILY in finding a suitable home for the PUPPY.
The BREEDER can offer no further guarantees once the care of the puppy is no longer under the BREEDER’S control and therefore does not assume any liability for any injury to said PUPPY after delivery to the BUYER.
BREEDER makes no express or implied warranties or guarantees other than those set forth in this CONTRACT OF SALE AND HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE.
