Sales Policy: Blue Star Labradoodles stands behind our dogs and it’s very important to us that you be happy with your new puppy. Below we have listed our procedures for purchasing one of our precious puppies. All of the Blue Star puppies are Multi-Generation Australian Labradoodles, which means that you will be getting a low to non-shedding, allergy-friendly dog. Our Australian Labradoodles are direct descendants of the old Australian Labradoodle lines imported from Australia where the breed was created (See History of the Labradoodle) and (Types of Labradoodles).
As of July 1st, 2021, the full Puppy Purchase Price will be $3,800 plus WA Sales Tax.
Purchasing: The cost of a puppy is $3,800 plus WA State Sales Tax and all costs of shipping and shipping crate, if required. Each puppy will be dewormed, have their 1st set of puppy shots and be micro-chipped for their safety and your peace of mind. We will also provide a Puppy Baby Book that includes their Medical History and a 3 Generation Pedigree for both the Sire and Dam of your new Puppy.
Shipping Procedure: All costs incurred, if shipping is necessary, are at Buyers Expense. The airlines require all puppies to be Vet checked with a Health Certificate within 10 days of airline shipment and a shipping crate with food dish and water will be needed. Shipping expenses vary depending on where the puppy is being shipped.
Deposit & Balance of Payment: In order to bring this bundle of joy into your life, a Puppy Reservation Form will need to be completed and e-mailed. If you are submitting a Reservation prior to the puppy being bred, your $500 Reservation Deposit is NOT due until after puppies are confirmed via ultrasound and that is done about 28 days after their Honeymoon. Once puppies are confirmed, I will call or e-mail each family, in order of priority based on the date I received the Reservation, to confirm that you’d like to maintain your Reservation status and the $500 Reservation Deposit is due at that time. The Reservation Form can be found under “Contact Us” on my website and you can pay via Pay Pal also found under “Contact Us” (Payment Information.) However, I prefer a Personal/Cashier’s Check or Money Order made out to Blue Star Labradoodles for the $500 Reservation Deposit because PayPal Charges $17.94 on every $500 so you’d need to pay $517.94. We know that circumstances and timing can change so your $500 Reservation Deposit is always fully refundable any time for any reason less the PayPal Fee if you use PayPal.
Puppy Selection: It’s possible I may be keeping a puppy or puppies from the litter for my future breeding program so I can carry on the exceptional characteristics of the Sire and Dam. I have the litter of puppies professionally evaluated for Temperament & Structure at 8 weeks of age. I will decide at that time if I will retain a puppy/puppies for my program. I will then call families to let them know what puppies are available in order of priority based on the date their Reservation Form were received. The Evaluation also helps us match the puppy’s personality, size, coat, color, etc. with your preferences (especially if you are unable to visit the puppies). However, all families are encouraged to attend Family Puppy Visit Day and spend time with the puppies when they are about 6 weeks old and pick your top 3 puppy choices (Your 1st, 2nd and 3rd Choice).
Payment in full is due 2 weeks before pick up or shipment, Puppies are typically ready to join their new families when they are 9 weeks of age. If you would like to make periodic payments, rather than one large payment prior to shipment or pick up, we can discuss that and we’d be happy to work with you.
Payment Options: We are not able to accept Credit Cards at this time but will accept a Personal Check, Cashiers Check, or Money Order.
Cancellations/Refunds: If we do not have the preferred sex, color or size that you want, or we did not have enough puppies in the litter to fulfill your reservation, you may roll your deposit over to the next available litter. We typically take reservations for one less puppy than we think will be born in the litter. However occasionally the litter may be smaller than expected. In any of these circumstances, if you choose not to proceed, or do not want to roll your deposit over to the next litter, we will refund your $500 deposit in full. And, if any additional payments were made they will also be fully refundable. As I mentioned earlier, the only exception is if you use PayPal. PayPal charges me $17.94 on the $500 deposit so if a refund is requested and you did not pay the PayPal Fee, I will refund $482.06 ($500 – $17.94 = $482.06). Thank you for your understanding.
Contract: When puppies are approximately 6 weeks old, I will e-mail you a Puppy Update and your CONTRACT OF SALE. I ask you to print off 2 copies, sign both copies and return both to me immediately along with your balance due as specified in your Contract along with a piece of clothing from each family member that has been worn like a T-shirt or PJ top. Just put the clothing in a Large Zip Lock Baggie and write your name on it. Your puppy will sleep with your clothing for several days prior to pick up so your puppy will be familiar with your scent when you pick him/her up. When I get your package, I will then sign both copies of the Contract, retain one copy for my file and your copy will be put in your Puppy Baby Book.
Guarantees: We guarantee our puppies for genetic illness for hip and elbow dysplasia and Progressive Retinal Atrophy Eye Disease for up to two years from date of birth. We do OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing for hip and elbow dysplasia on all of our breeding dogs. In addition, all must have their eyes certified by an Ophthalmologist Vet to ensure that their eyes are clear of glaucoma, cataracts or tumors every 18 months. Blood tests are also done to ensure liver, kidney and thyroid function are good and there is no diabetes. We are passionate about the Australian Labradoodle and are committed to maintaining the integrity of this incredible breed and raising Multi-generation Australian Labradoodle puppies according to the guidelines and standards of the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA).
